Mark’s Arowana Ray Dream

Mark was struggling with high nitrage levels in his tank. It might be the case due to the high bioload, despite the massive biological filtration he has set up. We are glad and proud we could help.

PROBLEM

Mark owns a really nice collection of five asian Arowana and 8 large sting rays. He is housing them in a 6 x 2.5 x 2.5 foot tank. The fish were doing phenomenal, Mark just wanted to cut down on the water changes.

LSL SOLUTION

LSL took the challenge and proposed to install a Nitrate King. The existing pump for the UV light was powerful enough to flow water into our Nitrate King , so we installed a “T” connector from the pump going to the UV light and the Nitrate King.

HOW OUR PRODUCT BENEFITS HIM?

Mark reduced the Nitrate levels of his tank from 100 to almost 0. The intervals of the water changes have been extended to more than a week. He only has to recharge the Nitrate King every 4 weeks and can spend more time enjoying the hobby, instead of changing water. 

The Nitrate King was huge yet quiet. During the first visit, LSL and me took time to figure out the best configuration to accommodate to my current sump design.

What was impressive was that it worked so fast in bringing down the nitrates within 24hrs and maintenance was easy.

The shape of the Nitrate King also made it easy to fit into my sump tank compartment.

The Nitrate King solves the hassle of weekly water change, reduces my water bill and saves my time! The Nitrate level dropped from 80ppm to less than 20ppm.

It is suited for tanks with many fishes who requires heavy feeding. I was shopping around for an economic solution and I am glad I found LSL! Convinced with the performance, I bought a second nitrate king for my 5x3x2.5ft tank.

Derek’s Discus Paradise

Derek was measuring high nitrage levels after increasing the bioload. His UV light was not installed in a very nice way and after running it for 1.5 years he was supposed to replace the UV bulb.

Derek’s Tank

Derek keeps 7 wild caught discus fish, 2 geophagus, various wild caught corydoras, and tetras. The fish were doing great, just Derek wanted to cut down on the water changes and decided to remove the UV light due to the high operation costs and the hassle changing the bulb.

LSL SOLUTION

LSL installed a Nitrate King and a Silicium bead king. The existing pump for the UV light was powerful to flow enough water through both, we used the existing T connection from the main pump system and added an extra T valve connection.

HOW OUR PRODUCT BENEFITS HIM?

Derek reduced the Nitrate levels of his tank from 60 to almost 0.

The frequency of his water changes was reduced significantly, to once a week instead of 2-3 times per week.

He only has to recharge the Nitrate King every 4 weeks, which takes approx. 1.5 hours. The Silicium Bead King has to be back flushed every 4 weeks, reduces germs like his previous UV light, but runs completely without electricity and doesn’t require any spare parts.

Now Derek enjoys a view with lesser cables in the cabinet and can enjoy a lower electricity/water bill.

As my bioload is pretty heavy, my nitrate went up to the red zone. I learnt of this Nitrate King product from LSL and was very keen to try it out. I measured my nitrate level 1 day after setup of the Nitrate King and voilà my nitrate went down to zero!

I also got the uv sterilizer replaced, as it wasn’t fixed properly by the tank maker and I wanted one less electrical item in the sump cabinet. So I got the Silicium Bead King setup as well to take care of germs and bad bacteria.

Impressed with the products and the excellent setup service. LSL helped organised the setup in a much more neat and functional way.
